Humane World Action Fund, formerly called Humane Society Legislative Fund, is a leader in the animal protection movement, fighting for policy changes and supporting humane candidates for office to tackle the root causes of animal cruelty and suffering.
Established in 2004 as the political affiliate of the Humane Society of the United States—now called Humane World for Animals—we act to end animal cruelty by passing animal protection laws at the state and federal levels, educating the public about animal protection issues and supporting humane candidates for office.
Humane World for Animals has long recognized the critical need for stronger animal protection policies, and as the organization’s political affiliate, Humane World Action Fund has increased the public policy work of the humane movement and continues to build an army of trained political activists. We are a nonpartisan organization, partnering across the aisle with Republicans, Democrats and independents who share our compassion for animals and want to end animal cruelty.
Passing critical legislation to protect animals on the U.S. federal and state levels is an important component of the humane movement, impacting animals well beyond U.S. borders. Within the broader Humane World family, the Action Fund works to ensure that animals have a voice throughout the halls of Congress and with the thousands of federal and state lawmakers who can help address the suffering and abuse of animals.
