Delaware (joined 2021)

Laurisa championed quality teaching and learning through non profit leadership as Founder/ED of First State Educate and Teach For America Delaware before transitioning to animal protection. Following a degree in animal law, Laurisa co-founded Animals For Animals Action Fund in her home state of Delaware to eliminate suffering through coalition building, creative partnerships, and policy. Before returning to the U.S ., Laurisa lived in Hong Kong for 7 years where she worked for a Fortune 500 company learning how to market across cultural lines, ultimately launching an international accessories business whose pieces appeared in the New York Times, The Financial Times, and “O”, the Oprah magazine. Laurisa has degrees from Harvard University, University of Cambridge, and the Center for Animal Law Studies at Lewis & Clark Law.
