The Doris Day Animal League was an influential animal advocacy organization founded in 1987 by the late actress and singer Doris Day. In September 2021, the Doris Day Animal League merged with and into Humane Society Legislative Fund. Humane Society Legislative Fund was the sole surviving entity of the merger. Subsequently, in 2025, Humane Society Legislative Fund changed its name to Humane World Action Fund.
The merger of the Doris Day Animal League and Humane World Action Fund (formerly the Humane Society Legislative Fund) ensures that Doris Day’s life-long commitment to protecting animals through legislative advocacy and engagement will continue. As the sole surviving entity of the merger, all estate gifts established for the Doris Day Animal League legally pass to Humane World Action Fund (formerly Humane Society Legislative Fund).
